The Region IVAA Executive Committee has voted in favor of letting students that qualify in both Region IVAA Golf and Tennis play in both contests.  The committee asked that the region directors accommodate the situation as best possible for each day of the contests in Golf and Tennis.

 

 

The official dates for Regional Golf are Monday, April 19 and Tuesday, April 20.  The official dates for Regional Tennis are Tuesday, April 20 and Wednesday, April 21.

 

                                                                         COACHES’ MEETING

A meeting for the tennis coaches will be held Monday evening, April 19, at 7:00 p.m. at the TxState Tennis Complex Classroom. Girls Bracket Positions will be determined at 7:00 p.m. and Boys bracket positions at 8:00 p.m. Bracket sheets will be available at this meeting.

ENTRIES AND FEES

All regional qualifier’s entry statements should be emailed by April 13 using the Entry form found on the website to the Regional Tennis Director , email: @regionivaa.org. Regular mailing address is TxState, Jowers Center, Office , San Marcos Tx, 78666. Fees based on $12.00 per contestant should be mailed by the District Chairman by Tuesday, April 13 to the Regional Fiscal Director:

TENNIS CONTEST RULES

Each entry must bring one (1) can of unopened, yellow, USTA-approved tennis balls.

 

Tennis competition will be governed by UIL and USTA rules.

 

Officials from the Austin Tennis Umpires Association will officiate the tournament. A two-person team will serve as roving officials and will be available to resolve disputes.

 

TENNIS PRACTICE

Arrangements have been made for participants to practice at the San Marcos City Tennis Courts. Five courts will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the following times

 

Monday, April 19 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Tuesday, April 20 - After the Conclusion of the Matches

 

In addition, the Texas State U. Tennis Complex Courts will be available on a limited basis prior to the tournament.

GENERAL TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
Contestants should bring sun visors or caps for use during each morning or late afternoon matches. The TxState Tennis Complex covered courts may be used, if there is a need.
